This position is a one year contract.
The Financial Analyst contributes to the Pepsi Beverages Company's success by acting as an integral part of the Canadian Business Unit Finance team, supporting the Customer Accounting Team and functional sales leaders. This analyst role provides both technical and business support and will work to enhance our controls. He/she will proactively monitor customer topline trends and identify risks and opportunities. Success in this role will require results-driven behavior, solid organizational skills, a compliance mindset, intellectual curiosity, analytical thinking, technical strength and the ability to be both a team leader and member.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize Forecasting, Funding and Payment (FFP) tools and reporting to ensure alignment with customer contracts, addendums and other incremental spend
- Develop FFP Spend Reporting, Accrual Processes, reporting and complete detailed financial analysis of actual contractual spend vs forecasted spend
- Leverage or develop tools to ensure system integrity
- Partnering with Customer Finance / Key Account Managers to ensure economics of contracts are understood and trade spend is accurately booked to the P&L
- Challenge Key Account Managers on spending that is not documented in Customer contract to mitigate overspending and potential fraud
- Semi-annual business reviews of the top Customers with Key Account Managers (KAMs)
- Audit customer contract compliance to forecasting tool, customer payments & appropriate approval levels
- Analyze contract and addendum economics to add clarity to customer economics
- Work with I/T to enhance tools and controls
- Develop reporting templates for customer rebate department to quickly identify issues and enhance controls
- Identify and communicate the key "causes of change" versus the forecast
- Analyze key performance drivers and make recommendations
- Maintain (complex) Excel models and plan/forecast databases, as needed
- Support sales and multifunctional teams on ad-hoc projects
Preferred Experiences, Skills and Abilities:
- University degree in Business Experience in consumer products industry an asset
- Strong customer relations, interpersonal and verbal and written communications skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong technical, problem solving, planning, and analytical skills
- Experience in analyzing or forecasting Profit and Loss results
- Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills are a key requirement
- Previous Essbase software experience an asset
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
