Bilingual AR Analyst (Mississauga, Ontario, Canada)

This role is an eight (8) month contract.

The AR Analyst, Retail Deduction Management is responsible for managing an assigned portfolio of Major Retail customer deductions through to resolution. This position requires the analyst to secure the backup to support deductions through the cash team, sales or the customer directly. Analysis of the deductions is required to understand the type of deduction in order to seek out approvals from the appropriate departments within finance or sales. The deduction analyst supports the retail collections team by prompt follow-up and keying off of approved deductions thereby contributing to controlling risk. Consistent follow-up with internal partners for action and approvals is necessary to drive results. Adherence to processes and deadlines ensures timely decision making and resolution. In addition, the incumbent provides support on the telephone queues during peak periods and maintains a high level of customer service and team spirit. The incumbent must be highly analytical with excellent Excel skills (including pivots, macros, formulas) and strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external partners.

Key Accountabilities:





  • Manage assigned portfolio of deductions, initiate follow up calls as required to support deductions process

  • Ensures consistent follow up through to resolution for all deductions in accordance with established timelines

  • Partners will collection team to obtain applicable back up documents as needed to effectively research deductions relating to pricing, shortages, damages, fines, penalties, returns and PQI

  • Contribute to PBCs P & L by minimizing losses due to aged and unresolved deductions

  • Liaise with Sales Representatives/MEM, cross functional finance teams and customers for additional information

  • Perform account reconciliations. Support collectors to recover invalid deductions

  • Participate in monthly deduction status reviews with supervisor and collection portfolio analyst

  • Identify risk and escalate to leadership/sales to gain support on resolution or next steps

  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of branch chargeback's. Ensure compliance with authorization limits

  • Validate customer BDRs against PBC invoices to identify variances and engage the support of the BU AR Settlement team

  • Support collections team on preparing past due invoice packages

  • Participate in monthly staff meetings and one on one risk reviews




Job
Requirements:







  • 2-3 years experience in an accounting function

  • Bilingual (English and French) required

  • Strong reconciliation and analytical skills

  • Knowledge of accounts receivable

  • Proficient in Excel

  • Effective communication skills

  • Post secondary education required with a focus Business / Accounting

  • Experience in dealing with pricing, short shipment, unauthorized product and other deduction types
    Bilingual (English and French)

  • Post-secondary school diploma/degree in business related field of finance/accounting

  • Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to support the 11am - 7pm shift (approx 2 days monthly rotating). Overtime as required
