This role is responsible for cost, quality, service, category & vendor management, vendor performance, innovation, commercialization and productivity for our contract manufacturing business. Direct responsibility for our two largest contract manufacturing portfolios, dips and bars; indirect responsibility for the balance of the portfolio through the team.
Accountabilities
-Collaboration with Sales, Marketing & R&D on commercialization of new contract manufacturing platforms or product extensions that meet a stated Strategic Business Plan need for either consumer or customer. Will also include the identification of new partners that have the capabilities that are needed for the innovation agenda. (% on time launches; % innovation vs. plan)
· Development of the productivity agenda, AOP & Strat Plan, for the categories of dips and bars while leading the other team members, with the Contract Manufacturing team from NAF in Plano, and delivery of the same ($/unit; variance to standard / plan; % compressible cost productivity)
· Service compliance and supplier capacity management for categories
· Managing the vendors against the contract that is in place for entries on cost, quality, innovation, service, capacity
· Partnering with Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Ingredient Procurement on raw material supply chains upstream of contract manufacturing partners to ensure compliance to PepsiCo standards of performance
· Business Continuity Plans with vendors (% through Stage 5 testing)
· Period performance reviews and cost forecasting
· Balance sheet accruals for rebates from rigid packaging and vendor volume triggers
- Procurement, supply chain, commercialization and production
- Bachelor's degree (Engineering or Business) or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of cold form bar manufacturing, hot fill and retort food processes
- Knowledge of other food and beverage manufacturing processes
- Managing a cost center or budget
- Negotiation & supplier development
